The Holidays Are Upon Us

Thanksgiving 2012 has been here and gone already as the Christmas Season Approaches . . . a time to reflect. Our Thanksgiving Celebration was pretty good . . . the turkey was delicious, nice to spend time with family.  My brother took our parents, grandmother, and I to "A Christmas Carol" on Saturday, December 1 at the Valentine Theater in Toledo, Ohio--it was awesome! The Valentine Theater is beautiful on the inside--we had box seats and were very close to the stage.  I could see that again.  He also treated us to a wonderful dinner at Carrabba's in Maumee--the food was delicious and the service was excellent--I would go back there again to eat. I got my Christmas Shopping done early this year.  My mom surprised me by purchasing a new digital camera for me--she gave it to me early so I would have it to use now.  I am getting it learned, took a few pictures of our Christmas Decorations at home and put them on my Facebook page, the pictures turned out really ...

Snow White and the Huntsman

I recently purchased Snow White and the Huntsman . . . it is no Children's Fairy Tale that is for sure.  The movie was really good . . . I had gotten mixed reviews of the movie--I decided to get it for myself and watch it--Kristin Stewart is Snow White; Charlize Theron is the Evil Queen--she played that part very well--she is one of my favorite actresses anyhow as is Kristin Stewart; and Chris Hemsworth is the Huntsman.  I just have to watch Mirror, Mirror yet this movie stars Julia Roberts as the Evil Queen--you either like these two movies or you don't--Snow White and the Huntsman was good, I just did not make it to the theater to see and purchased the DVD.  The movie Red Riding Hood is also no Children's Fairy Tale and it keeps you guessing right to the very end.  Another good movie and there again you either like it or you don't. I also recently watched the Woman in Black starring Daniel Radcliffe best known as Harry Potter and that was a good movie . . . he is...

Summer is Gone . . . Fall Has Arrived

Summer 2012 is a distant memory until next year.  This past summer was one of the hottest and driest summers I remember--we have had some in recent history . . . 1988, 1995, 2005 are the ones that come to mind.  What does Fall and Winter have is store for the area . . . we will have to wait and see.  I was not looking for it to cool down so quickly, but it did--hopefully this is not what is yet to come if it is, we are in for a long, cold winter--I will be staying in if it is too nasty--don't like winter driving--let's just hope we get enough precipitation between now and by time the planting season begins to bring the water table up and our farmers have better crops next year. I had not made it to the Fulton County Fair in a few years--made it there this year, glad I went, I enjoyed the few days we did attend the fair and had the fair food--visited with people we knew and had not seen in awhile--it was good to see those we had not seen in awhile.

Vacation Time Over . . . Back To Work

I took the rest of my vacation time August 30-31 and Sept 4-7--see how many people missed me while I was gone.  It was a nice vacation, although I did not get to do what I wanted to do, that is Ok another time when there is more money to work with. I did manage to make it to the 155th Annual Fulton County Fair a couple of days out of fair week--it was worth it, I have not been to the fair in awhile, enjoyed the days I did go and of course had the fair food!  I even seen a few people I had not seen in a few years and talked with them. Maybe next year, I can plan a nice trip for me and the family maybe by then there will be a little extra money to work with--it was just nice to spend time at home with the family and take a couple days and go the the fair. I shall return to the world of the working and living and see what awaits me at my desk at work--get back into work mode from vacation mode--get back into the swing of things after a little over a week away from work. ...

Wrath of the Titans (Clash of the Titans 2)

I ordered "Wrath of the Titans" from Amazon.com shortly after it was released on DVD.  It is a good movie--it is filled with action.  I had the remake of "Clash of the Titans" and liked the updated version as well and added it to my personal collection.  The computer graphics in both movies are very good and when Kronos (the father of Zeus, Hades, and Poseidon) comes to life whoa. I hope you get the chance to see both of these action-filled movies!

Extreme Heat Gone . . . For Now

The last week and better was extremely hot and unbearable.  Summer definitely stuck around for quite a few days all across the country.  Which also brought some devastating storms to the area and thousands of people without power in that heat . . . Not good.  According to the last update, most everyone in this area is supposed to have their power restored by 11:30 tonight (July 8).  We will see what updates are on the 11:00 news.

Summer is Officially Here

Summer has officially made its appearance--it was 97 Degrees today (June 19) and tomorrow some areas could break 100 degrees--we will see how long it lasts. Not too much has happened since the last post--at work we went on a new Information Management System (software program) called Symphony--it is different there is a lot to learn on this new system my colleagues and I will all get there, it will just take some time.  We are getting mixed reviews from our regular patrons--some like some don't like it at all, but they know they will have to get used to it. There was nothing on TV tonight after I got home from work so I decided to listen to some of my songs I have saved on my computer as I am catching up with Facebook, Twitter and my blog.  This evening was the first Super Cruise in my hometown of Wauseon, Ohio--looked like they had a good turn out--the next Super Cruise will be the third Tuesday of July and the last one will be the third Tuesday in August--the last Tues...
