2013 . . . What A Year!

Here we are December 30, 2013--tomorrow is New Year's Eve and we will ring in another new year, 2014!

2013 has been quite the year for me that is for sure . . . it started out pretty good. I was looking forward to the new year. I then ended up getting sick in February--my doctor called it the "crud" and that exactly what it was--I felt like crud. I was put on an antibiotic and it cleared the "crud" up within a week.

Then as I posted earlier this year, my grandmother ended up getting sick and spent a week at Fulton County Health Center in March then she was moved over to Fulton Manor Nursing Home where she will remain, her doctor says she is too weak to ever be on her own again--we almost lost her three times when she came down sick--twice at Fulton County Health Center and once at Fulton Manor. We did find out after much testing that she had a stroke at some point, that cold not be pinpointed, but we know it happened and we could tell there was something different. She was moved to her permanent room in July and she is happy there and is involved with a lot of activities offered at Fulton Manor--the staff just adore her and I like hearing that. I also knew when she got back on track and was felling better, she would want to begin reading again, I was right, she did so I took a library card application over to her in June and set her card up as a home-bound/outreach card and have been taking books overt to her ever since that have came into the Wauseon Public Library--either there in the collection at the library or they have been ordered in from other libraries in the state of Ohio on inter-library loan--I try and keep her busy reading. Grandma is 85-90% better than she was when she went into Fulton Manor--her doctor says that is where she is going to stay. We as a family are Ok with that and it seems nice to go and visit her and have a normal conversation with her like we done before she got sick and she remembers what we talked about. She asks me how work is going like she did before she got sick--we are going to enjoy whatever time we have left with her.

Speaking of Wauseon Public Library, I will be employed there for nine (9) years in January--so hard to believe I have been there that long--time sure flies when you are having fun and I do each and every day I go into work, I love my job and I like the people I work with--they are like my extended family and we have a good time together--it makes the days go by faster and we all get our work done and help each other out where ever it is needed.  It has been a long haul, but I am glad I have a job I enjoy each and every day--who would have ever thought I would work in a library? I am glad I answered that add it changed my life and I hope to stay at Wauseon Public Library till I retire and live out my golden years.

I decided to attempt a new adventure--I am taking a Distance Learning Course in Medical Billing Specialist, it is one of those careers I have always been intrigued by and wanted to look into it further--no worries I am not leaving my current job at the library, I will do this when I am not there as a home-based business after I get through all the training and take the certification exam--the coursework gets you ready to take the Certified Professional Coder Exam, that will be interesting--I will see where this journey takes me--what lays over the horizon . . . stay tuned.

Let's see what 2014 brings and hope it is a prosperous New Year for me and my family and so many others. It is high time things start looking up for everyone--we will have to wait and see.
