Jack the Giant Slayer

I finally watched Jack the Giant Slayer while I was off work on my Staycation this past week.  It was good, definitely a different spin on Jack and the Beanstalk.  The movie is rated PG-13 it may frighten the younger children, then again maybe not.  I am glad I decided to add it to my personal collection. It is definitely not the Children's version of the story we read about as children. These updated versions of the Children's Stories we have read as children is definitely not for children's viewing, but at the same time kids today do surprise us. I have Red Riding Hood'; Hansel and Gretel Witch Hunters; Snow White and the Huntsman; Mirror, Mirror, Oz the Great and Powerful; Thor; Jack the Giant Slayer; Beastly.  They are so not your children's tales, but they are all good and I do recommend anyone to watch them and judge for themselves--these kinds of movies are right up my alley and like them and glad to have them in my own personal collection.  So if you...

The Fair has began . . . And Other Ramblings

The Fulton County Fair began today . . . don't know if we are going to go this year or not, hope so.  If we don't . . . we don't--but I want some famous fair food! The fair runs through next Thursday, Sept. 5.  I hope to make there--we will see. I will be on vacation next week . . . well, Staycation, not going anywhere just staying home.  Back to work on September 9 . . . see if my colleagues missed me or not. The computer I have had since 2007 has finally decided to start dying,  so I had to find a new computer at a reasonable price--without Windows 8!!!  I found one, it should be delivered next week while I am on vacation . . . then I will start the next chapter in my life, and take coursework in Medical Billing and Coding, don't worry I am not leaving my current job---No Way!  I am going to do the billing and coding from home when I am not at my Full-Time Job--I will see how it goes.  I like my Full-Time Job Too Much and work with a great gro...

Alas . . . Said Goodbye To A Good Car

Today, I said goodbye to my 2004 Pontiac Grand Am--that I have had since 2006.  I took it to Don's Automotive this morning and they bought it from me.  I will miss the car, but we have not been driving it as much as we did before I moved in with mom, dad, and my brother.  We have been driving my 2008 Grand Prix more often than the other one.  That is Ok . . . it has been a good car and I have no complaints about it. I got to enjoy it for 7 years.  It will make a good car for someone.

Hansel and Gretel Witch Hunters

Recently watched "Hansel and Gretel Witch Hunters" on DVD . . . not the fairy tale I remember as a kid. Hansel and Gretel's parents disappeared when they were kids and they became orphans.  They stumbled into a candy-covered cabin in the woods, where there was a mean witch that tortured them--they killed her, thus began their long record of being ruthless witch hunters--Hansel played by Jeremy Renner--his take on witches "a good witch is a dead" witch.  Plenty of action and a little bit of gore--not your children's fairy tale . . . it is a good I give it five stars, but I like these kinds of movies--the sci-fi/fantasy.  If you get the chance to watch this movie--please do, just don't let the little ones watch it without parental supervision.   Hansel and Gretel do find out what really happened to their parents toward the end of the movie . . . a surprise for both of them, and I was surprised.

New Restaurant in my Hometown of Wauseon, OH

A new restaurant had their grand opening in my hometown of Wauseon, Ohio today.  The name of this restaurant is called Downtown Diner--went over there today on my lunch break and tried it out.  The food is good--I will be a repeat customer that is for sure and the prices are not too bad at all. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming.  They are located in the old Sterling Restaurant and yes they also have ice cream from Homestead Ice Cream in Archbold.  If you get the chance to come to Wauseon any time soon stop by the Downtown Diner and try it out. Returned to Downtown Diner today--July 31--to have lunch again on my lunch break--their lunch special today was Hamburg Gravy over mashed potatoes--Yummy!!  It tastes just like my mom's!  I highly recommend anyone that has not been over there for their full-fledged diner menu--try it out I am so glad to have a place like that in Downtown Wauseon--There is Sullivan's Great food and Great Service!  AKA Desig...

Oz The Great and Wonderful

I recently watched "Oz The Great and Powerful" it is the story of how the Wizard of Oz became the Wizard of Oz--it is a prequel to the Wizard of Oz.   The movie was very good--James Franco stars as the Wizard and Michelle Williams stars as Glinda the Good Witch.  Disney done a terrific job telling the story.  I will definitely be adding the DVD to my own personal collection.

Another Year Older . . . Next Year is the big 40!

My birthday has came and went without incident.  It was a good birthday . . . I am just another year older, and yes another year wiser--Next Year is the big 40 for me and my Cousin Heather--Not planning any big shindig or anything like that--it will just be another day for me and I will enter another decade--Gosh has time flew the coop. I am still a librarian--Gatekeeper of knowledge and next year will start my 9th year at the Public Library I am employed--no big celebration there either--it is hard to believe that I have been working at the public library for almost a decade--again time has flew by and I enjoy working there and working with the people I work with--I could not ask for a better group of Colleagues to work with--makes the days go by fast as well as our interactions with the patrons that come into the library and utilize our services. Alas another birthday has gone by and it was a good birthday!
